You know, for an international express shipping company, Fedex seems to know remarkably little geography:

Universal Healthcare Plan

Here is my proposal for how to get universal, socialised healthcare in the United States:

1. Privatise the crap out of existing healthcare facilities. Even more so than they are now. Scrap as many regulations as possible.
2. Wait for the entire system healthcare to completely collapse on itself.
3. Federal government comes in with $1T and nationalises the whole thing.

That's how they got a socialised banking system, after all.

LJ and Google Reader, together at last

I use Google Reader to read all my feeds, and for the longest time it was a major annoyance for me that there was no easy way to see my LiveJournal friends feed in Google Reader. LJ, it seems, does not make it easy to get a single merged feed of your friends. Probably because they want traffic on their site.

Anyway, I had been planning to write a Yahoo! Pipe for my friends page but never actually got around to it. (Side note: I did write a pipe that gets the full version of slashdot, links and everything, into a feed, in case you want that.)

It turns out somebody did it for me, and my first search for "livejournal" on Yahoo! Pipes turned up a pipe that does exactly what I want. Yay!
